Whisky

I found out my gut doesn’t like gluten in the summer of 2011, It must have been the combination of eating too much pizza and pretzels from the Old Hand Crank and my newly acquired tast for craft beer. At any rate, I was first angry that pizza and beer where evil for my stomach and promptly drank a case of Dogfish head and ate as much pizza I could stomach which proved all over again that yes gluten was evil – for me. So I stammered over to GoDaddy and tried to nail down the domain fuckgluten.com and to my surprise I was delighted that it was already registered. I wasn’t alone. Someone else had already been down my path. Big sigh… After calming my breathing and letting clear water return to my blood system for a few days I secured NoGutLeftBehind.com and No Gut Left Behind on facebook.

Now what do I do about pizza and craft beer? The only gluten free beer I found was RedBridge and Bards which are both made from sorghum. Redbridge tastes like piss and Bards goes down like blackstrap molasses, and yes I’ve acquired a twisted appreciate for both.

One foggy rainy afternoon in desperation I googled “is whisky gluten free”. I was sure it wasn’t but I was really hoping for someone to  twist the truth enough to make it gluten free. You can understand my hesitation to believe Gluten Free Girl when she actually pulled it off! By the end of her article I was ready to celebrate.
